Watermark PDF
Add a watermark that is visible without making the document unreadable
Watermarks are commonly used for “DRAFT”, “CONFIDENTIAL”, client names, internal-use labels or brand logos. The editor should support text and image watermarks with opacity, scale, rotation, position and page-range controls.

Watermark PDF runs locally in this browser tab. Known limits: A visible watermark is page content, not a security control — it can be removed by determined editing
A live preview matters because the correct watermark depends on the underlying page. Users should be able to apply one setup to all pages, selected pages or an entire batch of PDFs, while keeping the output readable.
What this tool does and does not change
- Preserved where the source file allows it: text, vectors, links, annotations, forms, bookmarks, metadata.
- A visible watermark is page content, not a security control — it can be removed by determined editing
Questions about Watermark PDF
- Can I add a text watermark such as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT?
- Yes. Enter the watermark text, then choose size, opacity, angle and placement. Diagonal center watermarks work well for status labels, while smaller corner marks are useful for client names or internal references.
- Can I use a logo or image as a PDF watermark?
- Yes. Import a PNG or other supported image, scale it proportionally and set opacity before placement. Transparent PNG logos are especially useful because they can sit over the page without a visible rectangular background.
- Can I watermark only some pages?
- Yes. Apply the watermark to all pages, a range or a manual selection. This is useful when covers, signed pages or appendices should remain untouched.
- Can I put the watermark behind the document content?
- Where the PDF structure allows it, the tool can support foreground and background placement. Background watermarks may be obscured by opaque page artwork, so the preview should show the real result before export.
- Can a watermark be removed later?
- A watermark added as a separate PDF object may be removable by someone with a capable editor. Flattening can make removal harder but may affect editability. A watermark is therefore a visual marking tool, not a substitute for encryption, access control or redaction.
- Does watermarking change PDF quality?
- It should not. Adding text or a logo can be done as vector/text/image objects on top of existing pages without rasterizing the whole document.
- Can I add the same watermark to many PDFs?
- Yes. Batch PDF should let premium users select multiple files, configure the watermark once and apply it consistently across the batch, with per-file status and retry for failures.
