A security model you can verify
Because the engine runs in your browser, you can confirm our main claim yourself: open your browser's network panel, run any tool, and you will see no request carrying your document.
Encryption
Protect PDF applies AES-256 encryption using your browser's Web Crypto implementation. Permissions such as printing and copying are written into the document's encryption dictionary. Passwords are never transmitted or stored.
Redaction is destructive by design
Redact PDF does not draw a black rectangle over live text. The affected pages are rebuilt from pixels, so the removed content is no longer recoverable from the exported file. That is also why redacted pages lose their selectable text layer — a trade-off we state before export.
Hidden data
Sanitize PDF reports what it finds — metadata, XMP, embedded files, JavaScript, content parked outside the crop box — and distinguishes between removed, kept and cannot-be-determined. Safe Visual Copy is offered when only a full rebuild can guarantee removal.
Limits we state honestly
We do not claim to break encryption. Unlock PDF requires the correct password. Signed documents are detected and you are warned that any edit invalidates the existing signature. Dynamic XFA forms are refused rather than silently damaged.
Reporting an issue
If you believe you found a security flaw, use the contact page and describe the file type and steps. Please do not send confidential documents — a synthetic reproduction is enough.
