Questions about Resize PDF / Add Margins

What is the difference between resizing and cropping a PDF?
Resizing changes the target page/canvas dimensions and can scale or reposition the existing page content. Cropping changes the visible page boundary. A crop can hide content that still exists in the PDF; resize is mainly a layout/paper-size operation.
Can I convert PDF pages to A4 or Letter?
Yes. Choose the standard target size and use Contain to keep all content visible. The preview should show any extra margins or scaling before export.
What does Contain vs Fill mean?
Contain scales the page content so all of it fits inside the new canvas, potentially leaving margins. Fill scales to cover the entire canvas and can crop edges. PDF Atelier should default to Contain because it is safer.
Can I add margins without scaling my content?
Yes. An Actual Size/No Scale mode can create a larger canvas around the existing content and align it using a 9-point grid. This is useful for printing, binding or handwritten notes.
Can I resize only some pages?
Yes. Page scopes should support all pages, ranges and selected pages, especially for PDFs with mixed page sizes.
Will form fields and annotations stay aligned?
They should only be transformed automatically when the active engine can preserve their coordinates reliably. Otherwise PDF Atelier must warn that interactive elements may be affected before enabling export.
Does resizing reduce PDF file size?
Usually not significantly. File size is driven more by images, fonts and streams than by page dimensions. Use Compress PDF when storage or upload size is the real goal.
Can I create a custom page size?
Pass/Plus should support custom width/height with clear units. The preview must show the exact dimensions and prevent invalid or extreme sizes that would create unusable pages.
