PNG to PDF

Convert transparent and lossless PNG images into ordered PDF pages

PNG files are common for screenshots, scans, diagrams and transparent graphics. The converter should preserve image sharpness while giving users control over page size, margins, background color and image fit.

PNG to PDF runs locally in this browser tab. Known limits: PNG transparency is composited against the chosen page background

Transparency needs an explicit choice because PDF viewers and printing workflows may display transparent pixels differently. PDF Atelier should preview the selected background, normally white, before creating the PDF.

Questions about PNG to PDF

Can I combine multiple PNG files into one PDF?
Yes. Add all PNG images, reorder them in the page list and create a single PDF. Each image becomes one page unless a future layout mode deliberately places multiple images on one page.
What happens to transparent areas in a PNG?
The converter should let you choose a page background, with white as the safe default. Transparent pixels are then composited predictably rather than depending on how a particular PDF viewer or printer handles them.
Does PNG to PDF reduce image quality?
The tool should embed or encode the PNG without unnecessary lossy recompression. If the resulting PDF is too large, compression should be offered as a separate next step so the user controls the trade-off.
Can I choose A4 or Letter page size?
Yes. Use a fixed page size with fit and margin controls, or use an image-sized page that matches the PNG dimensions. The preview should show whether any part of the image will be cropped.
Can I rotate or reorder PNG images before conversion?
Yes. Page preparation belongs in the conversion flow so phone screenshots and scans can be corrected before the PDF is created.
Why can a PDF made from PNG files be very large?
PNG is lossless and can be much larger than JPEG for photographic content. A PDF containing many full-resolution PNG pages can therefore be large. PDF Atelier should recommend Compress PDF after conversion when appropriate.
Can I convert PNGs from a phone or tablet?
Yes. The mobile picker should support multiple images and touch reordering. Large batches should be processed incrementally to avoid exhausting mobile browser memory.
