- How do I type on a PDF?

- Can I change text that is already in the PDF?
- This focused tool is designed primarily for adding new text. Existing PDF text can be structurally complex, so true rewriting belongs in the full Edit PDF workspace and should only be offered when the document allows it safely.
- Can I add text to a scanned form?
- Yes. A scanned page is an image, but you can place a new text layer on top of it, which works well for names, dates and short form answers. OCR is only needed if you want the scan itself converted into editable/searchable text.
- Can I move or resize the text after typing?
- Yes. Text remains an editable object during the session. Drag it, change width, adjust font size or delete it, with undo and redo available until export.
- Will the text be searchable in the exported PDF?
- New text inserted as real PDF text should remain searchable and selectable. The exporter should avoid rasterizing the entire page just because a text box was added.
- Can I use custom fonts?
- The first version should offer a small set of reliable fonts that can be embedded or represented consistently in PDF output. Arbitrary font upload adds licensing and embedding complexity and should only be added with explicit rules.
- Is Add Text private?
- The intended tool processes the page and new text locally in the browser. The application must not send what the user types into analytics, logs or error-reporting payloads.
