Questions about Repair PDF

What kinds of PDF problems can be repaired?
Structural issues such as broken cross-reference information, inconsistent object offsets or recoverable trailer problems can sometimes be rebuilt. The exact result depends on which parts of the file are still present.
Can Repair PDF recover missing pages?
Not if the underlying page objects or bytes are truly absent. Repair can reconstruct damaged structure around surviving content; it cannot invent content that no longer exists.
How does PDF Atelier verify a repaired file?
A successful repair command is not enough. The generated copy should be reopened in an independent PDF parser/viewer, structurally checked and compared with known page counts or document information where possible.
Will Repair PDF overwrite my original file?
No. The repair workflow must always create a new copy. Keeping the damaged original is important because another recovery method may be able to extract something different.
What if only some pages can be recovered?
PDF Atelier should label the result as partial recovery, show page-count differences when known and avoid presenting the file as fully restored.
Can repair fix a password problem?
No. Password/encryption issues belong to Unlock PDF. Repair addresses damaged PDF structure, not unknown passwords.
Can I repair a PDF locally?
When the tool is marked Local, analysis, low-level reconstruction and verification happen on the device. The damaged file should not need to be uploaded to a repair server.
What should I do after repairing a PDF?
Open several representative pages, check images/fonts/forms if they matter and keep the repaired file as a new copy. Only then continue with merge, compression or other transformations.
